In the year 1998/9 there was a first attempt to present a lighthouse page. This was hosted on the free platform of Myfiles. After about 1½ years this attempt came to an abrupt end, because this provider folded.
In September 2001 a second attempt was started on the Nexgo platform, which, after a few years, was taken over by Arcor. Sadly this platform became very costly, because of rising fees and my pages were just switched off when traffic exceeded the limits. That is why I looked for a more cost effective alternative.
Motigo Webstat counter since 08.08.2002
Towards the end of 2006 I found one at All-Inkl (KAServer.com) and prepared a move to the new server. Start day was in February 2007, at the same time as a change to my own domain name: http://www.leuchtturm-welt.net/.
In Juli 2008 there was much tinkering with the new start page, because the old pages were a bit text heavy and I didn't like them myself any more. At the end of July the new layout was mostly ready and went into production.
In April 2011 the pages was made ready for Windows7 and IE9.

These pages are optimised for IE 8.0 and Firefox 27.0 and should work with a screen definition of 1280x1024, 1152x864 and 1024x768. Other browsers were not tested and could lead to problems (picture shift). Also text sizes of "large" and "larger" could cause problems. In this case please use "View" to change the text size in IE and similarly in Firefox.
Under "Other - translations" it is possible that Japanese, Chinese and Korean characters can not be displayed. You will need the Windows Installation CD. You'll find instructions on that page.
For the notification of other technical problems I would be very grateful.
